1. 7:00 Welcome and Announcements
*Volunteer Opportunity supporting THES: Youth Magic Kids Triathlon, held in partnership with Texas School for the Deaf, needs volunteers for the event on March 8, 2026. *Congratulations to Mark Thompson, Wendy Todd and the Mobility Committee for ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday at the newly-poured sidewalk on Academy. The new sidewalk was funded with proceeds from the Residential Park Parking Program.
*Congratulations to Anita Tschurr and those who supported opposition to the sign ordinance revision that proposed allowing large electronic signage inside the City. For now, the ordinance revision has been tabled indefinitely.

3. 7:15 Membership Report
Members must pay dues to participate in SRCC business and actions, such as voting and making motions. Try the subscription option for automatic annual renewals.

Membership Chair reported growth of membership from this time last year. She also discussed a plan to research best practices hybrid meetings to see if there might be ways to improve participation and voting processes, particularly for members who attend remotely.

5. 7:25 Planning & Zoning Issues

*The President acknowledged efforts of the P&Z Chair in addressing the sign ordinance, which has been tabled indefinitelyz
*P&Z Chair reported on her continued service with the Planning and Zoning Committee and highlighted new community engagement efforts, including delivering letters to city council members and organizing a meeting on March 10th to discuss the Cidercade development. The group discussed the need for more involvement from new members and the importance of coalition building with other neighborhood associations. A member suggested conducting a congestion study for intersections near their neighborhood, particularly in light of upcoming developments like the massive Twin Oaks project.
6. 7:35 Update from Ad Hoc Nominations Committee

The Chair of the Nominating Committee mentioned the addition of Teresa Corsantino to the nominating committee and the need for area coordinators, a finance chair, and a secretary.
7. 7:40 Motion to Create Ad-Hoc Nav Hub Committee [VOTE EXPECTED]
Committee seeks authority to take engage with Homeless Strategies Office and Homeless Strategies Advisory Board and, in consultation with SRCC officers, pursue neighborhood goals relative to Navigation Hub, including but not limited to 1) safe passage for students to and from Travis Early College High School Campus; 2) neighborhood and site security; and 3) creation of new full-time Constable Pct. 4 position dedicated to this location.

The discussion covered several key topics, including the formation of an ad hoc committee to advocate for a full-time constable position dedicated to school safety, which Barbara will lead with support from Tom and Gretchen. No vote was taken at this time.
8. 7:50 Discussion of meeting schedule for remainder of 2026
Presenter: Co-Vice President, Robin Sanders (5 min)
The group discussed scheduling future meetings, deciding to hold an in-person potluck on May 3rd and a candidate forum in September, while keeping July as an off-month.
9. 7:55 Reports from Standing Committee Chairs

Status of various committees:
*Mobility discussion regarding parking impacts on South Congress Members discussed traffic and development concerns around major intersections, particularly focusing on the impact of light rail construction and the HEB development. Mark explained that while the HEB project couldn’t proceed due to traffic concerns, particularly regarding left turns with light rail, there are ongoing discussions about Oldorf Street improvements and SIF funding. Concerns were expressed about the lack of coordination between different construction projects and their cumulative impact on traffic congestion, suggesting the need for a comprehensive traffic study of the network.

*Parks Chair reminded membership about the upcoming Amplify Austin fundraising campaign starting March 4th.
