“Souptober” at Good Shepherd on the Hill!

Please see an invitation below from Good Shepherd on the Hill (1700 Woodland) for “Souptober” — their weekly Wednesday community dinner gatherings all October. Everyone is invited!

————————-

Dear Neighbors,

Good Shepherd on the Hill, along with some members of Friends of Riverside and SRCC invite you to join us for Souptober!  Gather with us Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 pm, October 14, 21 and 28, for fresh bread, hot soup and warm conversation. Come to any or all of the suppers, it’s free and no RSVP is necessary. We are located at 1700 Woodland Avenue, just east of 1-35.

Our goal for these dinners is simple, to build friendship and connection in our little corner of Austin and to begin a conversation about how together, we can build a vibrant and sustainable neighborhood. Some of us are new to this neighborhood and to Austin, while others have lived here many, many years. A lot of us don’t know one another, but we’d like to.

Here’s what to expect: a delicious dinner, some good conversation, a warm welcome, and an opportunity to learn more about the good things that are happening on the Hill and in this neighborhood.  We will have two kinds of soup (one vegetarian) and mac and cheese for those kids who don’t dig soup.

Here’s what to bring: we do not have a kitchen just yet, so BYOB (Bring Your Own Bowl and spoon), if you want to avoid using disposables.  If you’d like to bring a beverage or dessert to share you are more than welcome to do so, but it is not expected.

Here’s who should come: everybody! Everyone is welcome.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Kathy Pfister at kathyp@gsaustin.org or Larry Sunderland at lsunderland@me.com.
