City of Austin 2016 Mobility Program: South Congress Avenue

On February 27 2018, the City of Austin hosted an Open House to provide information and gather input on the proposed improvements to South Congress Avenue. This project is part of the larger 2016 Mobility Bond program https://data.austintexas.gov/stories/s/2016-Mobility-Bond/9krn-a66r/ that aims to improve mobility and safety in the City’s transportation network.

City staff is collecting input from neighbors on South Congress. There is an on-line survey to make your voice heard at: http://austintexas.gov/southcongress

The results of the community input will be used to prepare a preliminary engineering report in the fall of 2018.

The intersection improvements currently underway at Congress and Oltorf are proceeding because there was funding for this limited project. The larger improvements envisioned for the Corridor are not yet fully funded. Thus construction will be several years out.
